PASSWORDS IN ARMENIANS' IDS IN TURKEY ARE DEMONSTRATION OF DISCRIMINATION

    Mediamax, Armenia
    Aug 6 2013

Yerevan /Mediamax/. Political scientist Ara Papyan said today that
the use of passwords in the IDs of national minorities in Turkey
including Armenians by the Turkish government is a demonstration
    of discrimination.

Ara Papyan said that it's both sad and dangerous, Mediamax reports.

"It's dangerous because we all understand for what policy the passwords
    can be used", he said.

On August 1, "Agos" newspaper published an article which unveiled
that there are passwords in the IDs of the national minorities living
    in Turkey.

The political scientist noted that it's not the first similar case:
the passwords were used formerly, just the Turkish state speaks about
    them openly now.

According to the official information, the passwords are used for
admitting children of the families of minorities in Turkey to schools.

Journalist and head of news programs of Turkish IMC TV company Aris
Nalchin said in his turn that such passwords were used in 1916.

He noted that the Armenian community demands from the Turkish
authorities to reveal the aim of the passwords.
