Baku. Victoria Dementyeva - APA. Ambassador Ian Kelly quoted on
the new U.S. co-chair for the Minsk Group Ambassador James Warlick,
APA reports.
"I have known Ambassador Warlick for a long time. He is one of our
most talented and experienced diplomats. As Secretary Kerry said, we
are confident he will do a tremendous job in this critical post. His
appointment is another indication of the high priority the U.S. places
on resolving the Nagorno Karabakh conflict" - said Ian Kelly.
Kelly noted that he has been honored to serve as the Minsk Group
Co-Chair on an interim basis, and will continue to do so until
Ambassador Warlick assumes his new position in September.
On August 5, US Secretary of State John Kerry announced that James
Warlick was appointed as OSCE Minsk Group co-chair. Earlier, Ian Kelly
had been the US co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group on an interim basis.
