    ARMENIA WIN TWO GOLD TO KICK OFF JUNIOR WORLD WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIPS

    Armenia wrestlers won two gold medals Tuesday when the 2013 Junior
    World Wrestling Championships kicked off here, which bring together
    over 600 athletes from 62 countries and regions.

    Isvand Mahmodi Farshad of Iran won the gold medal of the men's
    Greco-Roman 50-kilogram wrestling by beating Ukraine's Oleksandr
    Tryfonov. Armenia gained two gold metals of the men's 60 kg and 74
    kg Greco-Roman styles, in which Karen Aslanyan beat Turkey's Basar
    Enes and Karapel Chalyan beat Ukraine's Andriy Antonyuk respectively.

    The championships will be held under three categories as men's
    Greco-Roman, men's free style, and women's free style.

    The opening ceremony was held at the Arena Armeec Hall, which is one
    of most advanced stadium in Sofia. Attending the opening ceremony
    were FILA President Nenad Lalovic, Bulgarian Minister of Youth and
    Sports Mariana Georgieva, and the President of the Bulgarian Wrestling
    Federation Valentin Yordanov.
