SYRIAN TERRORISTS ESCAPE TO TURKISH BORDERS FROM LATTAKIA COUNTRYSIDE

TEHRAN (FNA)- The rebel groups in Syria's Lattakia region escaped to
the Turkish borders after the Syrian army gained full control of all
villages and districts of the port city.
FNA correspondent in Syria reported that the Syrian army which has
completely gained the control of Lattakia countryside now sent its
forces and military equipment to Salanfah- Idlib region to stage
massive operations against the rebel groups.
According to the report, the Syrian army's artillery is now targeting
the hideouts of the militants in Salmi village which was earlier
evacuated from the people.
On Monday, the Syrian army troops chased and killed a large number of
militants in Lattakia countryside, and brought al-Nabi Ashi'a Mount
and the adjacent areas under full government control.
The source said that the army destroyed the militants' last gatherings
and killed scores of terrorists.
The source pointed out that the army units also dismantled explosive
devices and seized the terrorists' weapons.
Units of the armed forces on Sunday restored security and stability to
the villages of al-Hamushieh, al-Ballouta, al-Shiekh Nibhan, al-Khrata,
al-Khanzourieh, Barodeh and Jabal al-Sha'ban in Lattakia countryside.
Also, army units on Sunday found big amounts of weapons, ammunition
and Turkish-made medicine during operations in al-Hamboushiyeh,
al-Kharrata and Barouda villages to the North of Lattakia countryside
after eliminating terrorist groups.
An official source said that the army units found communication
devices, RPG and mortar launchers, B9 and B29 missile launchers,
heavy machineguns and an explosive belt stuffed with the highly
flammable material of C4, in addition to Turkish-made drugs.
