ARMENIAN PRESIDENT RECEIVES NEWLY APPOINTED AMBASSADOR OF URUGUAY

The newly appointed Ambassador of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay to
Armenia Aníbal Cabral Segalerba presented his credentials to Armenian
President Serzh Sargsyan on Monday.
Armenia's leader congratulated Mr Aníbal Cabral Segalerba on his
appointment and expressed hope that his diplomatic activities in
Armenia will give a new impetus to the development of bilateral
friendly relations.
Armenian-Uruguayan friendly relations have shown steady progress
since Armenia gained independence. Evidence thereof is reciprocal
willingness for cooperation and concern with each other's problems,
President Serzh Sargsyan said.
The Armenian people will never forget that as far back as 1965 Uruguay
was the world's first nation to officially recognize the Armenian
Genocide in Ottoman Turkey.
For his part, Mr Aníbal Cabral Segalerba pointed out Uruguay's
great respect for Armenia and its people and interest in developing
cooperation in various areas.
