SEVERAL YEREVAN RESIDENTS SEEK POLITICAL ASYLUM IN FOREIGN COUNTRIES - NEWSPAPER

    November 13, 2013 | 07:17

YEREVAN. - Deacon Andranik Manukyan, who is a distinguished musician,
ethnographer, and founder of several folk music ensembles, decided
to seek political asylum in foreign countries, Haykakan Zhamanak
    daily reports.

"[And] several more [Armenian capital city] Yerevan residents will
    follow his example.

"Not believing that constitutional rights can be restored and
protected in Armenia, [and] not reconciling with the reality of a
company's construction of a multi-profile building in their own yard
[in Downtown Yerevan], several residents of the area have decided to
[make such a] petition to the ambassadors of foreign countries to
    Armenia," Haykakan Zhamanak writes.
