Turkey will not make crucial changes to normalize relations with
    Armenia - Georgian expert

    January 05, 2014 | 19:46

YEREVAN. - Turkey is interested in improvement of relations with
Armenia but is reluctant to do anything at the expense of
deterioration of relations with Azerbaijan, Georgian expert said.

Giya Nodia, director of Caucasian Institute for Peace and Democracy,
does not think that Turkey is going to take any particular steps ahead
of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

`This is not due to some round dates, it comes from objective problems
and I do not expect that in the coming year some crucial changes may
    occur,' he toldArmenian News-NEWS.am.

He believes in order to achieve some progress, it is necessary to
solve a number of problems, to find a form that would be acceptable
for Azerbaijan that is supported by Turkey.

`Personally I do not know anything for which Turkey could go for a
radical change in the process of Armenian-Turkish reconciliation,'
    Georgian expert resumes.

Ankara has recently voiced intention to push forward normalization
with Yerevan, but Turkish side continues putting forward preconditions
    that are unacceptable to Armenia.
