DIAMOND EXPORTATION FROM ARMENIA GROWS BY 50 %

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 7, ARMENPRESS: Volume of diamonds exported from the
Republic of Armenia increased by 49.15 % year compared to 2012 and
amounted to 202.7 thousand carats. Custom total value of exported
diamonds exceeded 88 million dollars. According to the data of the
State Revenue Committee by the Government of the Republic of Armenia
135.9 thousand carats diamonds were exported from our country in 2012
by more than 79 million dollars customs total value. "Armenpress"
reports that it turns out that in the condition of around 50 %
increase in volume of diamond exportation its customs total value
increased by only 11 %.
Last year, the main buyers of diamonds exported from Armenia were
Belgium (95.1 thousand carats) and Russia (66 thousand carats).
According to the data of the National Statistical Service of the
Republic of Armenia, the volume of diamond production increased
by 41.2 % in the Republic of Armenia in 2013 compared to 2012 and
amounted to 94 thousand 498 carats.
