IRAN OFFICIAL: LAVASH IS ARMENIAN WORD AND ARMENIA IS MOTHERLAND OF LAVASH

"Iran as well can register lavash in UNESCO list of intangible cultural
heritage," said the head of the cultural value registration department
of Iran Cultural Heritage, Handcrafts and Tourism Organization,
Farhad Nazari, as it is reported by .
Note that RA Deputy Minister of Culture, Arev Samuelyan, during a
press conference, on December 23, 2013 declared that the art of making
lavash can be included in UNESCO intangible cultural heritage list.
After the statement was published, the Iranian mass media, particularly
IRNA, ISNA and taqnab.ir websites actively started to cover the
lavash issue.
An Iranian researcher, culture specialist Masoumeh Ebrahimi, and the
Council member of the Center for the Great Islamic Encyclopedia of
Iran Ali Bolukbasi referred to the lavash issue in their interview
with IRNA news agency and noted that lavash is one of the traditional
types of Iranian bread and that Armenia being influenced by Iranian
culture took the art of making lavash from Iran.

wants to register lavash in UNESCO doesn't mean that Iran cannot do
that. There are a vast number of cultural values that are common in
