BLOODSHED MAY LEAD TO UKRAINE'S BREAK-UP - RUSSIAN EXPERT

YEREVAN, February 20. /ARKA/. The recent violent clashes in Ukraine may
lead to Ukraine's breaking-up as a united state, well-know Russian
expert and president of Scientific Society for Caucasus Studies
    Alexander Krylov said.

The events may be considered as a start of a civil war where mass
bloodshed and North-African or Syrian intervention scenarios are
really possible, the expert said in his interview to Novosti-Armenia.

It is clear state mechanisms are collapsing, the government is losing
the power in the western regions local law-enforcement is unable and
    unwilling to resist, Krylov said.

Under these circumstances, the authorities should mobilize all
resources and take tough measures to suppress the anarchy, but,
apparently, they are not ready to do it, the expert said. This means
Ukraine may break-up as a united state, because local governments
will have to deal with their security on their own in the condition
of paralyzed central power, Krylov said. -0--

Violent clashes erupted Tuesday during anti-government protests in
Ukraine's capital, Kiev, with many people, including policemen, dead.
