    FIDE RANKING: ARONIAN COMES 2ND AFTER MAGNUS CARLSEN

    Armenian chess grandmaster Levon Aronian ranks as the second world
    player on FIDE's latest list.

    The Armenian chess star is behind only Norway's Magnus Carlsen who
    keeps remaining the planet's sole champion.

    The top 100 list also includes also Gabriel Sargsyan (2684), Sergey
    Movsesyan (2672) and Vlardimir Hakobyan (2667).

    Elina Danielyan and Lilit Lazarian rank as the 33rd and 38th,
    respectively on the world's top 100 female chess-players' list.

    The young players' list includes three Armenians, Karen Grigoryan
    (2577), Hovhannes Gabuzyan (2537) and Robert Aghasaryan (2502).

    The ranking for young female players includes one Armenian
    representative, Maria Gevorgyan (2181).

    On the team ranking, Armenia is the sixth.
