HAYKAKAN ZHAMANAK: MIKOYAN STATUE DISAPPEARS

The bronze statue of Anastas Mikoyan, the Soviet-Armenian statesman
widely criticized for involvement in the Stalin-era repressions,
is said to have disappeared in strange circumstances.
Employees of the melting house where it was being kept have reportedly
told the paper that the sculpture had been taken earlier. But they
didn't say where and by whom, according to the paper.
Neither were employees of the Yerevan City Hall or sculptor Gagik
Stepanyan (who was entrusted with the statue's quality control)
aware of its whereabouts, says the paper.
