YEREVAN, 30 JANUARY, ARMENPRESS. The Embassy of the Republic of
Armenia in Greece hosted a reception dedicated to Armenia's Army Day
at the Home of Officers Hall in Athens on January 28. As the
Department of Press, Information and Public Relations of the Ministry
of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia reports to "Armenpress",
the event brought together nearly 250 people, including Deputy Head of
the Main National Defense Headquarters of Greece, Deputy Admiral for
Military-Marine Forces Alexandros Teodosiu, Members of Parliament of
Greece, leaders of the main headquarters for terrestrial,
military-marine and military-air forces, representatives of companies
of the military-industrial complex, members of Greek-Armenian
national, political, cultural and non-governmental organizations,
diplomats, as well as representatives of Greek and Armenian mass
    media.

The Armenian officers studying at the Higher School for Infantry,
students of the Evelpidon Military Academy for Land Forces and the
groups of boys and girls representing Homenetmen greeted the guests
and received them with military honors. The event began with a moment
of silence in memory of the soldiers who died as a result of the air
disaster that took place in Spain a couple of days ago, including 2
pilots of Greece's military-air forces. In his speech, military
attaché of the Armenian Embassy in Greece, Colonel Samvel Ramazyan
touched upon the symbol of the day, that is, the formation of the
Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, as well as the centuries-old
military alliance between Armenia and Greece and the military
cooperation between both countries. During the event, according to the
decree of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, 7
high-ranking Greek officers were granted medals of the Armed Forces of
the Republic of Armenia for their contributions to the Armenian-Greek
    military cooperation.
