4 MILLION USD AGAINST AIDS

The Global Fund of combat against AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria
allotted 4 million USD to RA to support the national program of
combating AIDS for the coming 3 years. This is the second phase of
the 7.2 million USD grant. The first phase finished in September 2005.
By the way, the speed of spreading of the AIDS/HIV virus is the
highest in our region. According to official data, there are 2800-3000
HIV bacilli carriers in Armenia. 78.3% of them are men, and 21.7%
are women.
