    ITAR-TASS, Russia
    June 2 2004

YEREVAN, June 2 (Itar-Tass) - The Council of the Heads of the Chambers
of Commerce and Industry of the CIS states discussed priorities for
forming integral infrastructure to support small and medium businesses
in the CIS countries at its second meeting in Yerevan on Wednesday.

"Economic integration in the CIS territory is a major resource for the
capitalization of the internal potential of economic organizations of
our respective countries," Martin Sarkisyan, the head of the Armenian
Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said. He stressed the importance of
the investment policy, the creation of favourable business environment
and an increase in reciprocal turnover.

"A systemic and more comprehensive approach to the schemes of financing
the production, transportation and the marketing of products is
needed," Sarkisyan went on to say. He believes that this process
should be absolutely clear and transparent for the partners.

The Yerevan forum will also give definitions to major terms and
basic notions such as the expertise, expert activities, control over
expert organizations in the CIS territory and the issue of expert
    certificates.

The heads of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry will sign an
agreement on mutual recognition by CIS countries of certificates for
    ecologically clean products.

The Council of the Heads of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of
the CIS member countries was set up last June. It is headed by the
Head of the Armenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Martin Sarkisyan.
