Yerevan, 25 May: Even when the Orinats Yerkir [Law-Governed Country]
Party was in power, it did not stop criticizing negative developments
in the country and made every effort to eradicate them, the leader of
the Orinats Yerkir Party, Artur Bagdasaryan, said during a debate with
the leader of the National Unity Party, Artashes Gegamyan, on the
    Armenian Shant TV channel yesterday.

"During my work as speaker, my party and I received five times more
complaints and requests than other factions and the government
together," Bagdasaryan noted. He said that his party has sent all
documentary evidence of illegalities in the country to the
    Prosecutor-General's Office.

"But while in the government camp, we could have enjoyed it just like
other parties and try to derive maximum benefit from it, but we did
not do so. I think that the more there are people like me and my
supporters, the faster Armenia will develop," Bagdasaryan said. He
asked what the opposition in the person of the National Unity Party
and its leader Artashes Gegamyan has done.

In response to this, Gegamyan said that Bagdasaryan's role as
Armenia's second official was not to criticize negative developments,
but to eradicate them. "I am no longer the second official of the
state, I have resigned," Bagdasaryan pointed out.
