Greens urge police to support them in their effort to pull down
boutiques in Mashtots Park

It seems that the greens' campaign to demolish the boutiques in
Mashtots Park has run into the sand.
Nine people promised earlier this week to pull down the boutiques on
Mar 31 1:00 PM.
Over 100 people came to the park on Saturday to support the "wrecking
crew." The police were already there to guard the boutiques with
batons and shields.
At first the crew said they would give the municipal authorities three
days more for cancelling their decision, but after a short
consultation with their supporters, they started exploring the area to
see which boutique to attack the first.
They urged the policemen to take their side and to stop guarding money
bags' property, but the guards were unyielding.
In the end the protesters promised to attack the boutiques the moment
they see even a small gap in the cordon.
On Mar 15 the Government allowed construction activities in Mashtots
Park. The municipal authorities say the boutiques will be there for
three years only, but the greens demand pulling them down immediately.
