    Thursday , 11 February 2010

Chaired by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, the Cabinet met in a
planned session at the Office of Government.

The Government approved the concept of combating unauthorized
construction and the 2010 program of tourism development in the
Republic of Armenia, the feasibility study, cost estimate and timetable
for topographical and cadastral survey and mapping work on a scale of
1:1000 for Lake Sevan shoreline up to the mark of 1905 m altitude,
Vayots Dzor marz area survey and mapping plan (inclusive of the
area assigned for Jermuk's new airport), a general development plan
for Armavir town, as well as the procedure to follow in getting an
external degree on graduate and post-graduate studies.

The Cabinet endorsed the concept note on gender policy and told
the ministries concerned to submit to the Ministry of Labor and
Social Affairs individual gender policy action plans for the period
    of 2010-2015.

The meeting discussed and approved the draft RA law on internal audit
which specifies the rules and procedures, as well as the terms of
reference for internal audits in the public sector.

Next, the Government discussed and approved a package of proposed
amendments to RA laws on State benefits, Armenia's Rescue Service,
Licensing Procedure, Advertisement, Trade and Services, State Duties,
the Code of Administrative Infringements and Labor Code.

The government also approved the draft law on amendments to RA law
on international covenants under which a contracting party reserves
the right to withdraw from a treaty or agreement at any time pending
the date of effectiveness of such treaty or agreement by giving the
other side a clearly worded advance notice.

Under another initiative, the Government suggests to amend the RA
law on citizenship by extending the deadline set for citizenship
applications from refugees until December 31, 2012.

The aforementioned bills will be sent to the National Assembly for
consideration in the manner and timings established by law.

As a whole, over thirty decisions were passed at today's Cabinet
    sitting.
