  • Armenia is ready to respond to falsifications of Azerbaijan

    Aysor, Armenia
    Feb 27 2010

`Armenia is ready to respond to falsifications of Azerbaijan'

Armenian Community of Poland gathered Friday in front of Azerbaijan's
Embassy, as February 2010 marks the 22nd anniversary of the Sumgait
Massacres -- the beginning of acts of genocide against Armenians in
    Azerbaijan in 1988-92s.

Demonstrators marched across the diplomatic street of Saska Kempa
towards the Embassy of Azerbaijan. Protesters carried Armenian state
flag and posters, reading condemnation of the Sumgait Massacres.

One of the sourdoughs of Armenian Community of Poland, Rafael Amirian,
spoke to protesters, and read a letter on the Simgait Massacres, which
referred to those brutal crimes against Armenians of Azerbaijan,
committed by Azerbaijani nationalists. The protesters urged
Azerbaijan's government to bear responsibility for those crimes and
called the international communities to condemn mass killings against
civil Armenian population of Baku, Sumgait, Maraga, Getashen, and
    other regions.

Rafael Amirian and Hakob Bagdasarian, who heads `Musa-Ler'
ethnographic assembly, tried to hand the letter to the Azerbaijani
official; however, the official refused to receive the letter and said
doesn't know Polish. Protesters had to throw the letter into the
    Embassy's letter-box.

After holding a rally in front of Azerbaijan's Embassy,
representatives of the Armenian Community of Poland traditionally
gathered at the Armenian Embassy, where Armenian Cross-Stone is
installed, and paid a tribute to the Sumgait Victims.

Armenia's Ambassador to Poland, Ashot Galoyan, presented Azerbaijani
false interpretations of the Sumgait Massacres and disinformation on
    history of liberation of Karabakh.

The rally in front of Azerbaijani Embassy makes it clear that
Armenians throughout the world will never forget those crimes and are
ready to respond to falsifications of Azerbaijan and to all
    anti-Armenian acts, said Ambassador Galoyan.
