    YEREVAN TO HOST 5-th IEEE EAST-WEST DESIGN & TEST SYMPOSIUM EWDTS 2007

    YEREVAN, AUGUST 15, ARMENPRESS: The Congress Hotel in Yerevan will
    host September 7 -10 the 5th IEEE EAST-WEST DESIGN & TEST SYMPOSIUM
    (EWDTS) 2007.

    A press release by Synopsys Armenia said the main target of the IEEE
    East-West Design & Test Symposium is to exchange experiences in the
    field of design, design automation and test of electronic circuits
    and systems, between the technologists and scientists from Eastern and
    Western Europe, as well as North America and other parts of the world.

    The symposium aims at attracting attendees especially from the Newly
    Independent States (NIS) and countries around the Black Sea and
    Central Asia.

    EWDTS 2007 has received 151 paper submissions from 25 countries. The
    technical program contains a selected set of paper and poster sessions,
    in addition to Plenary and Invited Presentations.

    The symposium takes place in Armenia, where Noah's Arc landed. The
    capital city, Yerevan, is one of the oldest inhabited cities in the
    world and is surrounded by ancient monuments and beautiful nature.

    Besides being famous for its cognac and nice sunny autumn, Yerevan
    is a city of science, culture and high tech R&D.

    The Social Program of the Symposium includes a visit to the historic
    Etchmiadzin Monastery and Garni and Geghard, as well as a city tour
    of Yerevan. In addition, there will be two optional one-day trips to
    Khor Virab, Noravank and Lake Sevan.

    The symposium is sponsored by the IEEE Computer Society Test
    Technology Technical Council (TTTC), and is organized by Kharkov
    National University of Radio Electronics, and the STaR Labs and the
    Microelectronics Organizations of Armenia, in cooperation with Tallinn
    University of Technology, Moscow Institute of Control Sciences,
    Kiev Institute of Modeling Problems in Power Engineering, and RAS
    Institute of Design Problems in Microelectronics. It is financially
    supported by Cadence, Echostar, Intel, INTSPEI, Mentor Graphics,
    National Instruments, Synopsys, and Virage Logic.
