YEZID COMMUNITY OF ARMENIA TO SUPPORT CANDIDACY OF SERGE SARGSIAN AT 2008 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS

YEREVAN, AUGUST 21, NOYAN TAPAN. The Yezid community of Armenia will
support the candidacy of the RA prime minister Serge Sargsian at the
2008 presidential elections, the chairman of the National Union of the
World's Yezids Aziz Tamoyan stated at the August 21 press conference.
In his words, the decision to support Serge Sargsian's candidacy was
taken at a sitting of the Union's council, during which Yezids living
in Armenia were called upon to give their votes to Serge Sargsian.
"Like in other countries, in this country too the ethnic minorities
should back the government, state and its leadership," A. Tamoyan
noted.
