ORINATS YERKIR DOES NOT ENDORSE HERITAGE PARTY'S INITIATIVE

It became known on August 29 that the oppositionist parliament
faction of the Orinats Yerkir Party will not endorse the legislative
initiative by Raffi Hovannisian, leader of another oppositionist
Heritage Party, regarding the recognition of the independence
of Nagorno-Karabakh. Raffi Hovannisian had offered the proposal to
Speaker Tigran Torosyan on the eve. The deputy leader of the Orinats
Yerkir Party Mher Shahgeldyan stated not to endorse the initiative
of the Heritage Party at the Friday Press Club.
"In fact, we do not endorse this initiative. The problem is that
the negotiations are underway now. The negotiations include or
the negotiations are held under the aegis of the international
organizations. In this context, the negotiations should continue,
the issue should be solved in this context. Certainly, the problem of
Nagorno-Karabakh is primary for our nation, our state, our national
interests, our vital interests, it is our dram. At the same time,
the process mediated by the international organizations we must be
able to follow this track. If it were possible to solve this problem
through such decisions, in most countries where there are liberation,
national problems, these problems would be solved. Besides, we should
not forget about the decision of the Supreme Soviet we all know,"
says the deputy leader of the Orinats Yerkir Party.
