The White House continues upholding Richard Hoagland's candidacy for
the position of the new US Ambassador to Armenia, Charge d'Affaires
a.i. Rudolf Perina told journalists. Nevertheless, he recalled that
it is for the US Congress to take a final decision on approving
Hoagland's candidacy. "The situation around this issue remains
    unchanged," Ambassador Perina noted.

To remind, Hoagland's candidacy was blocked twice by Senator Robert
Menendez, as Hoagland refuses to recognize the mass killings of
rmenians in the Ottoman Empire as Genocide. Nevertheless, the Bush
Administration is said to wait for the Congress to take its recess,
which usually happens in August, to appoint the proposed candidacy
for the position of US Ambassador to Armenia.
