NKR DEFENCE ARMY CONFIRMS DESERTION OF SOLDIER TO AZERBAIJAN

NKR Defence Army confirmed the fact of desertion to the Azerbaijani
party by NKR Defence Army soldier by 23-year-old Hambartsoum Asatryan
on August 4.
Press Secretary of NKR Defence Army Lt. Colonel Senor Asratyan said
the soldier voluntarily left the army unit, crossed the boundary and
got hostage in Azerbaijan for some unknown reasons. "Hambartsoum
Asaturyan had been avoiding army service for 5 years until he was
brought to army," S. Asratyan said. The Command of the soldier's
army unit characterizes him as an uneducable person trying to avoid
service. "He even attempted suicide. A criminal case was initiated
on the fact," S. Asratyan said. He also added that investigation is
underway on the fact of border crossing.
