9 CANDIDATES SUBMIT CLAIMS FOR PRESIDENCY
Yesterday, 18:00 p.m. was the deadline for the RA presidential
candidates to submit their claims to the Central Election Commission.
The candidates had a 15-day time-limit for the submission of the
documents.
During the meeting with the journalists, CEC Chairman GAREGIN
AZARYAN announced, `Before the deadline for the submission of the
candidates' claims for presidency, we received documents from 9
citizens.
The candidates submitted their documents in the following order:
ARTASHES MAMIKON GEGHAMYAN, `National Unity' party, LEVON HAKOB
TER-PETROSYAN, a self-nominated candidate, SERZH AZAT SARGSYAN, the
Republican Party of Armenia, VAZGEN MIKHAEL MANOUKYAN, `National
Democratic Union', TIGRAN KARAPET KARAPETYAN, `The People's Party',
VAHAN EDUARD HOVHANNISYAN, Armenian Revolutionary Federation -
Dashnaktsutyun, ARTHUR VAHAN BAGHDASARYAN, `Rule of Law' party, ARMAN
VARDAN MELIKYAN, a self-nominated candidate, ARAM SERGEY
HAROUTYUNYAN, `National Consent' party.
The registration of the nominated candidates will take place from
December 3 till January 20. The pre-election campaign will start on
January 21 and may continue till February 24, 24:00 midnight.'
The registered candidates have the right to withdraw their
candidacies till February 9. The ballot-papers will have been printed
by February 9.
The total number of the voters registered in the voting registry
will be published on February 18.
The presidential elections will take place on February 19, from
8:00 a.m. till 20:00 p.m. The precinct election commissions will have
published the protocols of the election results by February 20, 20:00
p.m. The claims for recalculation will be accepted till February 20,
14:00 p.m.
The preliminary results of the elections will be published by
February 20, 20:00 p.m., and the election results will be summed up
and ratified by a protocol by February 26.
