WHO CUTS FIR TREES....
Fir trees trade started in Yerevan streets. Though there are no
natural fir trees, but last years' experience showed that the holiday
mood has negative results on our forests.
Ruben Petrosyan, the forest head of `ArmWood' state non trade
organization said that Armenian forests are to be under strict control
from December 10. `Not a single pine tree will be cut from `ArmWood'
forests,' he said.
According to the Nature Protection Ministry, the order of the
supervision and protection of the forests will be ready from December
10. Note that every year one can hear many promises, orders for
protecting Armenian forests, but still the pine trees are sold in the
streets.
