CONSTRUCTION GROWS BY 19.2% IN ARMENIA IN JANUARY-OCTOBER 2007 ON SAME PERIOD OF LAST YEAR

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 11, NOYAN TAPAN. Construction work of 490 bln
894.5 mln drams (about 1 bln 409 mln USD) was done in Armenia in
January-October 2007, including construction of production facilities
of 167 bln 297 mln drams. In the indicated amount, building and
assembly work made up 439 bln 904.4 mln drams, including building
and assembly work of production facilities of 136 bln 210 mln drams.
According to the RA National Statistical Service, construction grew
by 19.2%, building and assembly work - by 18.9% in January-October
2007 as compared with the same period of last year.
In the first ten months of 2007, 9.3% of construction was done
at the expense of the state budget, 0.5% - the reserve fund of
the RA government, 6.6% - humanitarian aid, donor and charitable
organizations, 0.1% - communities, 23.9% - private organizations,
and 62.6% - at the expense of the population.
