ARMENIA TO RECEIVE $42,872 FROM MCA IN JANUARY

The Millennium Challenges Account project is important for our
country in four aspects, Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan said so at
the last session of the governing board of the Millennium Challenges
Foundation Armenia.
Sargsyan said the first is that more than $235 million is allocated
to Armenia within the project, which is a serious amount for our
economy and will have its important impact in the development of the
country just as an investment. Second, important issues are tackled
with the project like road construction and irrigation, agriculture
development, that is, the project complies with our policy of equal
development of regions. The prime minister said the project has not
only economic significance but has a political and rating aspect. He
said the project is implemented only in countries with a certain
level of development, so the inclusion of Armenia into the project
indicates that our country is developing in compliance with modern
requirements. And fourth, the project provides an opportunity to
introduce a new work culture in Armenia.
