ARMENIA'S PRESIDENTIAL CONTENDER FROM ARF DASHNAKTSUTYUN PARTY ANNOUNCED BEGINNING OF UNUSUAL ELECTION CAMPAIGN

    2007-12-24 14:43:00

ArmInfo. Armenia's presidential contender from ARF Dashnaktsutyun
party, vice speaker of the Armenian parliament Vahan Hovhannisyan
announced the beginning of an unusual election campaign.

During today's press-conference, he said that he offers the country's
citizens to sign a unique Agreement or Memorandum with him. The
Agreement terms are as follows: V. Hovhannisyan as a presidential
contender promises the citizens to carry out free election, social
reforms in conditions of political stability, to form an atmosphere of
public consent, protection of the main rights and freedoms of citizens,
as well as assure uniting of all the Armenians. "We demand nothing
of the citizens, just a freewill consent to join our campaign. The
citizens are free in their will expression, and they may either join
or no, no one force them", V. Hovhannisyan emphasized.

He added that 400,000 blanks of this agreement have been
prepared. "Over 200,000 people voted for us at the parliamentary
election and I think that this number will double at least at the
    presidential election", V. Hovhannisyan said.

During today's press-conference, he also touched on some "myths and
legends", which float in the society on the threshold of the election,
saying that the election winner is known already. "When everything
is solved and predetermined in the society, no one talks about it,
on the contrary, a struggle imitation, which is absent in Armenia,
    is created", V. Hovhannisyan said.

He also said that he invites another participants of the campaign to
return from a sleaze field to the political discussion field.
