Lennmarker said it was important to learn both parties' stances on
    conflict

    10 February 2007 [01:11] - Today.Az

President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Goran Lennmarker met
with a group of NGO representatives in Azerbaijan.

Head of the Society for Woman Rights Defense Novella Jafaroglu told
reporters that the issues concerning human rights defense,
improvement of electoral law and the Nagorno Karabakh conflict
between Armenia and Azerbaijan were discussed at the meeting. NGO
representatives expressed their will to join negotiations between
Azerbaijan and European organizations on the amendments to the
    Election Code.

Lennmarker called his visit to Baku very effective stressing that he
has learned the positions of both parties to the Nagorno Karabakh
    conflict.

Answering the question on why he didn't meet with President Robert
Kocharian in Yerevan, he said he had been told that the president was
    abroad.
