NATURAL FOOD SUPPLIMENT FROM ARMENIAN APRICOT CAUSES GREAT INTEREST ABROAD

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 12, NOYAN TAPAN. The natural food suppliment
"Apricotabs" made of Armenian apricots caused great interest at
Expo 2007 recently held in Canada, Director General of Hagenas
OJSC Khachik Gevorgian told NT correspondent. According to him,
Apricotabs made by Hagenas are a concentrate of fresh apricots,
which is received without any chemical or thermal processing,
thanks to which all useful substances contained in apricot
are preserved. K. Gevorgian said that unlike various biological
supplements imported into Armenia, the chemical content and quality
of Apricotabs are controlled by the laboratory "Exprimental Center of
Drugs and Medical Technologies". Studiesconducted by the laboratory
showed that a tablet of Apricotabs is equal to 8 fresh apricots by
its content. This food suppliment is rich in iron, potassium and
natural antioxidants and is recommended for pregnant women and people
suffering from cardiovascular diseases and anemia. Recent tests showed
that Apricotabs increase ability to work and remove fatigue after a
physical and mental overstrain. According to the director of Hagenas,
the National Olympic Committee of Georgia has submitted a bid for
purchasing Apricotabs for Georgian sportsmen.
This supplement is officially registered in Russia where it attracted
interest of the Sports Committee and power structures.
