OSCE OFFICE HELPS PROMOTE OSCE PRINCIPLES AND VALUES IN ARMENIA

Within its broad mandate, the Office continued to assist the Armenian
authorities and civil society in promoting key OSCE principles
and values. It provided legal and policy expertise on elections,
anti-trafficking, migration, media and SME development, capacity
building in the fields of human rights, media freedom, gender equality,
environmental protection and youth leadership.
The Office intensified its anti-corruption efforts and helped the
authorities in fighting cyber crime. It also continued to chair
working groups on elections, anti-corruption, Ombudsman issues,
media legislation and cyber security.
The Office widened the scope of its activities through the
establishment of the first economic and environmental programmatic
presence in the Syunik province and by expanding the 'Aarhus' public
environmental information centres' network to the regions. Two major
ongoing projects - recycling of rocket fuel component (Melange) and
promoting trust between police and population - entered an intensive
implementation stage.
