OVER 2 MLN PEOPLE TO VISIT "HOLY ARMENIA"
The treasures of Armenian art are exhibited in Louver.
Over 2 million people will see the exposition, Vigen Sargsyan, Advisor
of President of Armenia, said at the press conference today. "Holy
Armenia" exhibition will be opened on 19 Feb. V. Sargsyan said that
it would be a unique exhibition. "It is the first time that Armenia's
Government decided to take cross-stones and original Armenian
manuscripts outside the country," he pointed out. Rosgosstrakh Company
- an official partner of the "Year of Armenia to France", insured all
pieces of art.
V. Sargsyan said that that there are no reasons for excitement of
Armenian prominent cultural workers who are against transportation of
the works of art to France. "Every manuscript was placed in a special
safe providing security of the manuscripts even in case of air crash,"
he assured.
7 flight were made by Armavia Air Company to transport the
exposition. It includes over 200 unique pieces of Christian art, dated
4-5 c. AD, - provided by treasures of the Holy Echmiadzin, the Museum
of Armenia and Matenadaran (manuscript museum).
