COMBINED FOOTBALL TEAM OF AZERBAIJAN WISHES TO PLAY WITH THAT OF ARMENIA IN AUSTRIA, SWITZERLAND AND UKRAINE

The Ministry for Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan has proposed to
hold the matches of the group selection round of the Europe-2008
Championship between Azerbaijan and Armenia in Austria, Switzerland or
Ukraine, the Ministry's spokesman Ragif Abbasov told the "APA-Sport".
According to him, these proposals have been already sent to UEFA.
"Azerbaijan does not agree to hold matches with Armenia in Baku and
Yerevan. That is why, we have addressed the UEFA in view of holding
these matches in Austria, Switzerland and Ukraine". He noted that
Azerbaijan is ready to conduct the match also in another neutral filed,
proposed by UEFA.
To remind, the Armenian side wishes for the both matches to be held in
the countries themselves, at that, the Football Federation of Armenia
(FFA) expressed readiness to first leave for Baku. The issue of holding
the Armenia-Azerbaijan matches will be discussed at the next UEFA
Executive Committee, the terms of which are yet unknown, APA reports.
