State awards to Officers of RA Armed Forces

On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of formation of the Armenian
Army, with RA President Robert Kocharyan's decree a number of Officers
of the Armed Forces were granted high state awards for `Service to
motherland' and ` Contribution to army building.' The ceremony was
attended by NKR President Arkady Ghukasyan, RA Prime Minister Andranik
Margaryan, Speaker of the National Assembly Tigran Torosyan, Defense
Minister Serge Sargsyan, other officials.
Congratulating the guests, President Kocharyan said in his speech:
`The 15th anniversary of formation of the Armenian Army is a
nationwide holiday. The Army is the structure that inspires pride to
all Armenians, to every citizen of the Republic of Armenia, that
enjoys the respect and trust of the people.
We can say with confidence that the formation of Armenian statehood
started with the formation of the Armenian Army.'
