HUMAN RIGHTS WATCH: DINK TRIAL A TEST FOR TURKISH JUDICIARY

International human rights protection organization Human Rights Watch
says. As Turkish daily Zaman says, on Monday the court process on
the case of the murder of editor-in-chief of the Turkish-Armenian
"Agos" newspaper Hrant Dink, killed on 19 January started in
Istanbul. Evidence that will be heard in the trial, beginning on
Monday, may raise serious questions about the possible involvement
of security forces in Dink's killing, HRW said in a statement.

will be closely watching how the court handles any evidence that may
implicate the security forces", HRW says. Holly Cartner, HRW Europe
and Central Asia director said: "The Turkish authorities failed to
protect Hrant Dink, despite evidence that his life was at risk.

They must now ensure that those responsible are held to account and,
    where appropriate, prosecuted."
