NORTH HOLLYWOOD - A 19-year-old Armenian man was fighting for his
life today after being shot multiple times at close range by unknown
    assailants, police said.

The man, whose identity was withheld, was shot about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday
as he was standing in front of a friend's house in the 12500 block
    of Burton Street, police said.

Unknown gunmen first fired from the street, then approached the victim
and continued firing rounds at close range, striking the victim
multiple times, police said. The man was taken to a local hospital
where he was treated for injuries to his chest, arm and legs, police
said. He was listed in critical but stable condition.

Detective Karen Crawford from the LAPD's North Hollywood Division
crimes against persons unit, said detectives had no witnesses and no
    description of the suspects.
