ARMENIA TOOK FOURTH PLACE BY VOLUME OF MONEY TRANSFERS FROM RUSSIA IN 2006

Armenia took the fourth place, among CIS countries, by the volume
of money transfers from Russia in 2006. According to the information
RF Central Bank, $604 mln were transferred to Armenia from Russia in
2006, that makes up 10,1% of the total amount of transfers from RF to
CIS countries. According to RF CB data, the main recipients of money
transfers from Russia in 2006 among CIS countries were Uzbekistan with
share of 16,7% ($1 bln.), Tajikistan -15,9% ($957 mln), Ukraine - 15,4%
($927 mln) and Moldova - 8,7% ($525 mln).
