PATRIARCH OF ETHIOPIA HONOURS HIS HOLINESS CATHOLICOS ARAM I WITH GREAT DINNER PARTY

ANTILIAS, JULY 13, NOYAN TAPAN - ARMENIANS TODAY. Patriarch
Paulos organized an official dinner party in the great hall of the
Patriarchate of the Orthodox Church of the Republic of Ethiopia in
honour of Aram I, the Catholicos of the Great Cilician House in the
evening of July 12. More than a thousand people were present at this
dinner party: representatives of Islamic and Christian communities,
all the primates of the Ethiopian church, state MPs, Ministers, as
well as the Ambassadors of different countries and Vardges Nalbandian,
the Chairman of the Armenian community, which has a small population.
First His Holiness expressed his satisfaction with the services
implemented by the Ethiopian church with Partriarch Paulos at the
head. Catholicos Aram I mentioned with happiness that his conciliatory
mediation between the churches of Ghput and Ethiopia has had success
due to the cooperation of the patriarches and the clergy of the
churches. His Holiness also expressed his thankfulness for the warm
hospitality towards him. At the end of the dinner party the Patriarch
handed special memorial souvenirs to His Holiness Aram I and the
members of the delegation accompanying him.
His Holiness Catholicos Aram I and the Patriarch of Ethiopia left
for Egypt in the morning of July 13.
