WE CAN LIVE TOGETHER WITH ARMENIANS ONCE AGAIN -DEPARTMENT HEAD OF AZERBAIJANI PRESIDENT ADMINISTRATION

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. A.Ismaylova / Novruz Mammadov,
the head of the Department of the Azerbaijani Executive President
Administration on Foreign Relations, stated on 16 July that the joint
visit by intellectuals has demonstrated that Azerbaijani and Armenian
communities can live together once again.
Mammadov noted that participating in this mission demonstrates that
Azerbaijan expresses this wish. "This is a necessary process. There
were similar cases in history and we can live together again.
Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh can live in Azerbaijan, as its citizens,"
Mammadov said. Azerbaijan has demonstrated that it is doing everything
possible for a peaceful settlement of the conflict.
Touching upon the activities of the co-chairman of Minsk Group,
Mammadov noted that the group should resolve the Armenia-Azerbaijan
Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within the framework of territorial
integrity of Azerbaijan. Commenting the position of the co-chairman,
Mammadov added that the Minsk Group is necessary for OSCE to give
legal status to the regulation of the conflict. "The issue is all
about fair status," Mammadov said.
