    ARMENIAN MOLYBDENUM PRODUCTION BOOSTS FERROMOLYBDENUM MANUFACTURE

    Armenian Molybdenum Production (AMP) metallurgical company raised
    the production of ferromolybdenum by 33% to 16,848.3 million over
    the first half of 2007 as compared to the same period of 2006, AMP
    Director Karen Karapetyan told ArmInfo.

    He said that in the first half of 2007, 1,392 tons of ferromolybdenum
    were manufactured i.e. by 29% more than in the first half of
    2006. Moreover, the company received and processed 1.850 tons of
    molybdenum concentrate from local Zangezour and Agari copper and
    molybdenum plants. The company received 278 tons of concentrate from
    foreign vendors to produce ferromolybdenum. AMP Director said that
    since the beginning of 2007, AMP activated a new shop floor for
    processing of rhenium salts in terms of kalium perrhenate, which
    is used for manufacture of final product - ammonium perrhenate. In
    the first half of 2007, the company manufactured already 80 kg of
    ammonium perrhenate.

    K. Karapetyan also added that the medium-term manpower totaled 336
    people in the first half of 2007, the average salary being 140,520
    drams ($420). Over the period under review, the company transferred
    431.8 million drams to the state budget of Armenia, including 203.4
    million drams using the method of netting VAT. Social security
    contribution totaled 48.6 million drams.

    Armenian Molybdenum Production was founded in 2003 in the outskirts
    of Yerevan. The company started stable operation in 2004. The capacity
    of the company is 5,000 tons of ferromolybdenum yearly.
