RUSSIAN COMPANY INDICATED AZERBAIJAN ON THE MAP AS TERRITORY OF ARMENIA THAT CAUSED INDIGNATION IN BAKU

In the advertising spot of "Megaphone" operator of mobile
communication, dedicated to the calls to CIS countries, Azerbaijan
has been indicated as a territory of Armenia on the geographical map.
As APA reports with reference to Azertaj, even the capital of
Azerbaijan, Baku, has not been indicated on the map. The Embassy of
Azerbaijan in Russia officially addressed the management of "Megaphone"
JSC with requirement to eliminate the distortion from the spot. The
Company operatively responded to the Embassy's address. Thus,
transmission of the advertising spot by TV was stopped on July
18. In the reply letter, the "Megaphone" CJS expressed regret in
view of this mistake and thanked the diplomatic mission for timely
address. The letter notes that "the incident is a mistake and it is
not purposed to deliberately distort the real information about the
territorial integrity, sovereignty and internationally- recognized
borders of Azerbaijan".
