    Tourist Destination

    - The Airport has over 60 International Routes, and is Used by Airlines
Such as Air France and Lufthansa, Among Others

The new Zvartnots international airport in Yerevan was recently
inaugurated with the aim of becoming a business and tourism hub between
Europe and Asia, a bridge between two cultures as diverse as the West
and the East. Armenia is currently one of the most promising countries
in the Caucasus region. In addition to its strategic location, its
economy has been experiencing spectacular growth in recent years,
giving rise to numerous business opportunities. It also has a rich
cultural and historical legacy which makes it one of the most promising
    tourist destinations in the area.

All of these facts have sparked the United Kingdom's interest and,
as such, British Airways have demonstrated their strong commitment to
Armenia as a new destination. The company has begun operating three
flights weekly between London and Yerevan in response to high demand
    for the route.

Since its inauguration in May, the airport has been operating over
60 routes with destinations as attractive as Paris, Munich, Athens,
Beirut, Istanbul, Vienna, Moscow, Frankfurt, Amsterdam and Dubai,
among many others. Some of the most renowned airlines operate in the
facility, such as Air France, Lufthansa, Aeroflot (Russia), Austrian
Airlines and Czech Airlines. The aerodrome is expected to handle over
    2 million passengers in 2007.

According to Marcelo Wende, General Manager for Armenia International
Airport, the company in charge of the facility, "by opening this
airport we are bringing a country experiencing spectacular growth
    closer to the world.

That's how the United Kingdom has viewed it, which is demonstrated
by the decision of an airline as important as British Airways to
dedicate part of its fleet for daily flights to Armenia. Zvartnots
currently connects with London, but we are certain that in a few
months it will be possible to fly to other British cities." Armenia
