TURKISH CONSTITUTIONAL COURT TO FILE CHARGES AGAINST PRIME MINISTER

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ The Constitutional Court of Turkey will bring an
action against Prime Minister of the country Recep Tayyip Erdogan,
President of the Constitutional Court of Turkey Tulay Tugcu stated on
Wednesday. "Statements made by the Prime Minister to the address of
the court in connection with its decision on canceling the first stage
of presidential elections exceeded all possible limits of decency.
They are unacceptable, since they exceed the limits of the
constitutional law and are directed against the Constitutional Court,"
she underlined. Yesterday the Turkish Premier called Constitutional
Court's decision on canceling the first stage of presidential elections
held on April 27 "humiliation of justice system", CNN-Turk reports.
The Turkish Constitutional Court annulled the voting for the first
stage of presidential elections because of absence of quorum of 367
deputies in the parliament. The second voting was scheduled for May 6,
however the only presidential candidate Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul
could not gather constitutional majority of votes and had to withdraw
his candidature.
The parliament of the country declared early parliamentarian elections
following the recommendations of the ruling Justice and Development
(AKP) party. Parliamentarian elections are scheduled for July 22.
