    [03:59 pm] 01 June, 2007

On June 1, the Republic Party, the New Times Party, the Orinats Yerkir
Party and the Impeachment Bloc sought for restoration of citizens'
violated rights at the Constitutional Court. They demand recognizing
    the May 12 election invalid.

Nuneh Hovhannisyan, a Central Electoral Commission advocate, stated
that Nikol Pashinyan and Vahagn Hovakimyan cannot submit pleading as
they are neither officials nor have the corresponding legal education.

    The court rejected the solicitation.

Nikol Pashinyan, the leader of the Impeachment, believes that the
main principle of campaign was not observed, and the pro-government
forces employed the administrative resource, the media were biased,
most Armenian citizens were deprived of the right to vote, others
voted with forged passports, people were forced to join the Republican
    Party and the Prosperous Party.

Pashinyan also presented the election frauds registered by the Vanadzor
    office of Helsinki Civil Assembly.

Garegin Azaryan, the CEC Chairman, Abraham Bakhchagulyan, the
CEC Deputy Chairman, David Harutyunyan, the Minister of Justice,
Ararat Mahtesyan, the Deputy Chief of Police, and Grigor Amalyan, the
Chairman of National Commission on Television and Radio participated
    at the hearing.
