Vahid Erdem, chairman of the parliamentary group on NATO, member of
the ruling `Justice and Development' Party, declared that if NATO
takes the decision to carry out peacekeeping mission in Nagorno
Karabakh, Turkish soldier will be `pleased' to participate in it.

According to `AzerPress,' Erdem said Turkey is one of the strongest
NATO member states and participates in peacekeeping missions in
Kosovo, Bosnia, Afghanistan, Lebanon and other places; therefore, it
can partake also in the peacekeeping operation in Nagorno Karabakh.

`However, NATO does not have any such plants. If, nevertheless, NATO
takes a corresponding decision, Turkish soldiers will be pleased to
leave for Karabakh. Turkey has close historic ties with Caucasus.
That is why the departure of Turkish peacekeepers to the Karabakh
conflict zone will be beneficial for all,' he said.
