NA SPEAKER TIGRAN TOROSYAN RECEIVED AMBASSADOR VLADIMIR PRYAKHIN

June 5 Speaker of RA National Assembly Tigran Torosyan received the
Head of the OSCE Office in Yerevan, Ambassador Vladimir Pryakhin,
who is completing his mission in Armenia.
NA Speaker Tigran Torosyan thanked the Ambassador, expressing
confidence that the traditions established during his tenure in office
will continue.
The Speaker wished success to MR. Pryakhin in his future activity.
Vladimir Pyakhin assured that the 44 months of his mission in Armenia
have been a period of effective activity and success of democratic
institutions due to close cooperation with the authorities and civil
society representatives. He gave a high evaluation to the May 12
parliamentary elections, noting that this was the first time the
opinions of different international structures coincide, registering
unprecedented elections in Armenia, almost fully corresponding to
accepted democratic principles.
NA Speaker Tigran Torosyan voiced confidence that the presidential
elections will also be held in accordance with democratic standards. He
noted that in case of necessity amendments to the Electoral Code will
adopted during the autumn session of the National Assembly.
During the meeting reference was made to a number of other issues of
bilateral interest.
