Armenian youth walk to raise funds for church

Young people from the Armenian community in the Montreal area plan to
hold a walkathon to raise funds for the new Holy Cross Church and
Community Centre in Laval, Que. The walkathon June 16 will start at
10 a.m. at the diocesan headquarters in Outremont and finish at the
building site in Laval, reports the Armenian Church of Canada's
website, www.armenianchurch.ca. Bishop Bagrat Galstanian, primate of
the diocese of the Armenian Church, and the diocesan assembly have
dedicated this coming year to the youth of the community. The
fast-growing Armenian community in Laval has for several years been
in need of a new church and community centre, according to the
website.
