ARMAN MELIKYAN: KARABAKH'S JOINING ARMENIA MEANS GREAT TERRITORIAL LOSSES

The Nagorno Karabakh Republic is not the Republic of Armenia. This
should be comprehended both here and there, Adviser to NKR President
on Foreign Policy Issues Arman Melikyan told ArmInfo correspondent
In his words, NKR's joining Armenia means great territorial loss. NKR
has matured as an independent state on the territory it controls
today. And this is the only approach that enables us to have no
territorial losses. We must know for sure what we shall get in this or
that case. When we speak about Karabakh's joining Armenia, it means
we are losing large territories, and this unification will never be
legalized. It's not the question of physical loss of territories. He
reminded that Nagorno Karabakh took the path of independence still
in 1991, which it effectively fulfils and will continue so up until
international recognition. There is no other way.
