The US Embassy in Armenia has confirmed the information disseminated
by Turkish media, asserting that US Secretary of State Condoleezza
Rice and Defense Secretary Robert Gates applied to the House of
Representatives, urging to refrain from passing the resolution
condemning the Armenian Genocide in order not to damage the relations
with Turkey.
